Shark expert George Burgess was quoted in June 26 and 27 Associated Press national wire stories about the fatal shark attack of a 14-year-old girl in Florida’s Panhandle.

Burgess also was quoted in related stories in the Miami Herald (circ. 444,119), the St. Petersburg Times (circ. 442,348) and The Times of London.

Burgess also was interviewed about the attack on CNN’s “American Morning.” Stories quoting Burgess on the attack ran in hundreds of newspapers worldwide and were in part the result of referrals by News & Public Affairs and the Health Science Center News & Information office.
