August 30, 2005
The Neuromuscular Training Program, which is housed in UF's College of Public Health and Health Professions Department of Physical Therapy, will host the first annual Neuromuscular Plasticity Symposium on Thursday, Sept. 22, in Emerson Alumni Hall.
The program, funded by the National Institutes of Health, has gathered a top-notch group of speakers to discuss multidisciplinary research on the body's ability to create new routes of communication between the brain and muscles following central and peripheral nervous system injuries.
The morning session begins at 9 a.m. and will include presentations by Arthur English of Emory University, Gary Sieck of the Mayo Clinic and Paul Zehr of the University of Victoria. Poster presentations to follow in the afternoon. For more information, contact Laurie Bialosky at lbialosky@phhp.ufl.edu.
