Great Gator Health Fest
November 2, 2005
WHAT: The Great Gator Health Fest is a health-care screening service for all Gator fans and area residents. The program is sponsored by the Florida chapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists, with support from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy’s four campuses, Nova Southeastern University and Florida A&M University.
Pharmacy students will work with health-care professionals to provide free cholesterol testing, diabetes screening and bone density testing for osteoporosis. Information from the APhA national projects Operation Diabetes, Operation Immunization, Heartburn Awareness and Poison Prevention will be available. The Health Fest booths offer a convenient way to get valuable health information, especially for those who are on the way to the stadium for Saturday’s football game pitting the Gators vs. Vanderbilt.
