Slain UF student memorialized with scholarship

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. — On Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, University of Florida student and Merritt Island native Thomas Brown was found slain in Jacksonville following the Florida-Georgia football game.
To celebrate Tom’s life, a memorial scholarship fund has been established with the University of Florida. This fund will provide scholarships in the M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Building Construction, where Tom was a student. All who wish to contribute should send their donations to:
