Lightning expert Vladimir Rakov was quoted in a Jan. 6 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (circ. 409,217) story about how lightning might have been the cause of the explosion that killed 12 West Virginia coal miners. Rakov also was interviewed Jan. 6 for “ABC World News Tonight” on the same topic.
