The International Conference on Aging, Disability and Independence

What: The International Conference on Aging, Disability and Independence will bring together 600 experts on aging from 40 countries to discuss the use of technology to maintain independence and quality of life for seniors. The more than 300 planned conference presentations and demonstrations are organized into seven tracks: assistive technology and workplace adaptations; home modification and universal design; injury prevention; robotics; smart homes; telehealth; and transportation.
Conference participants will include a mix of individuals, such as those involved in research and development, professional practice, business, government and policy, as well as seniors who will benefit from the research, services and policies.
The conference will also feature a free, public lecture on Wednesday, Feb. 1 from 7 to 7:40 p.m. at the Hilton St. Petersburg. John Morley, director of the St. Louis University School of Medicine Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center, will speak on male sex hormones and exercise in fit and frail elders.
