A study by Dr. Larry Deeb, a pediatrics professor, showing that children who get obesity-related diabetes face a much higher risk of kidney failure and death by middle age than people who develop diabetes as adults was the subject of a July 27 Associated Press national wire story that ran in numerous papers around the country.
