Tour of solar buildings starts in research park Sunday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The 11th Annual National Solar Tour is coming to the Gainesville area Sunday.
The tour begins at noon at the Energy Research and Education Park, University of Florida, 2610 S.W. 23rd Terrace. Other activities are available until 6 p.m.
The tour includes the national historic Solar House at UF’s Energy Research and Education Park, Florida’s first building to receive gold certification from LEED, and various homes in the Gainesville area using solar energy to replace conventional sources of energy. Experts in the field will give tours and answer questions.
The Gainesville tour is organized by the UF student chapter of the American Solar Energy Society. The tour is free and open to the public.
