State Rep. Dean Cannon, former Student Body president, to speak at breakfast

WHO: State Rep. Dean Cannon of Winter Park will speak at the monthly Community Campus Council breakfast. Cannon is slated to become speaker of the House in 2010-2012 and will serve as chairman of the House Economic Expansion & Infrastructure Council at the start of the 2007 legislative session.

WHAT: Rep. Cannon will offer insight on what’s ahead for the state and offer a legislative session preview. He is a former UF Student Body president and has earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism (1989) and his juris doctorate (1992) from UF. He is also a member of UF’s Hall of Fame.

WHEN: 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10

WHERE: University of Florida Hilton Hotel and Conference Center. The breakfast buffet is $12. Make checks payable to the University of Florida. The room is at full capacity. (The location for the breakfast is being changed for this month only)
