Pulitzer Prize winner Karen DeYoung to speak on Bush's administration, diplomacy

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Pulitzer Prize winner Karen DeYoung will present “Does the Bush Administration Care About Diplomacy?” at 7:30 p.m. April 5 in the Reitz Student Union Lecture Hall 282.
DeYoung is an associate editor at The Washington Post and the paper’s senior diplomatic correspondent. She has worked at the Post for more than 30 years and is the recipient of numerous awards for foreign correspondence and for diplomatic and explanatory journalism, including the 2002 Pulitzer Prize given to the Post for National Reporting (team award for coverage of U.S. war on terror). A graduate of the University of Florida, DeYoung lives in Washington, D.C.
She is the author of “Soldier,” a biography of Colin Power published in 2006. There will be a book signing after her speech.
DeYoung’s talk is sponsored by the University of Florida International Center in collaboration with the College of Journalism and Communications, ACCENT and Student Government.
