January 18, 2008
The University of Florida College of Education has announced that Tom Dana, director of UF’s School of Teaching and Learning (STL), has been selected as the College of Education’s next associate dean for Academic Affairs. His appointment becomes effective July 1, with the start of the new academic year.
Dana will succeed Jeri Benson, who recently announced her retirement after a long and accomplished career in higher education teaching and administration. Dana and Benson will work closely between now and July to facilitate the transition in this vital leadership post. Tom will continue to direct STL until he begins his new appointment in July.
The College of Education is appreciative to members of the search committee for their advice and counsel: Rod Webb, Buffy Bondy, Michael Garrett, Jean Crockett, Linda Hagedorn and graduate student Anyjah Heatley.
