Sen. Dockery and Rep. Galvano to be recognized at Blue Key reception

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — State Sen. Paula Dockery, R-Lakeland, and state Rep. Bill Galvano , R-Bradenton, will be recognized today at a Blue Key reception to be held at the Tallahassee home of Cynthia O’Connell, University of Florida trustee.
Dockery and Galvano are being recognized for serving as co-chairmen of the Gator Caucus for the past four years.
“The Gator Nation has been fortunate to have the leadership of Sen. Dockery and Rep. Galvano. Their guidance in the state Legislature has benefitted UF as we pursue our agenda to serve the people of the state,” President Bernie Machen said.
The Gator Caucus is comprised of Florida lawmakers who are legislative advocates for the university. Caucus members are UF graduates, attended UF, have immediate family members who are students or alumni, or represent legislative districts that include the UF campus.
Dockery received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UF, and also has served on various university committees. Galvano received a bachelor’s degree from UF, as well as a law degree from the University of Miami.
The new Gator Caucus co-chairmen, state Sen. Steve Oelrich, R-Gainesville, and state Rep. Seth McKeel , R-Lakeland, will begin their roles immediately following the reception.
