UF dance performances centered on themes of sustaining ‘eARTh’

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Dancers, choreographers and guests of the College of Fine Arts School of Theatre and Dance will present more than 20 original works in their spring showcase, “Footprints.” The program explores the boundaries and responsibilities of sustainability, challenging our potential and igniting the imagination.
The spring series of three different programs runs April 10 to 13 in the G-06 dance studio at the Nadine McGuire Theatre and Dance Pavilion.
The event, the primary outlet for BFA dance majors to showcase their choreographic works, is directed by Kelly Drummond Cawthon and inspired by the themes of sustaining eARTh and community.
Highlights include a guest artist performance by Shapiro & Smith Dance of Minneapolis, Minn., BFA dance majors performing senior solos choreographed by guest artists Earl Moseley, N.Y.; Tami Stromach, Israel and N.Y.; and alumni choreographer Colette Krogol, N.Y.. The show also features a College Exchange Program guest performance by Valencia Community College and performances by internationally acclaimed faculty, including Kelly Drummond Cawthon, Neta Pulvermacher, Ric Rose, Isa Garcia-Rose, Mohammed DaCosta, Tiza Garland and Rusti Brandman.
Footprints schedule: Program A: 7:00 p.m., April 10, 12 and 13; Program B: 4:00 p.m., April 12 and 13, 7:00 p.m., April 11; Program C: 9:00 p.m. April 10.
