July 24, 2008
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Visitors at the Harn Museum of Art will enjoy innovative and engaging programming during Museum Nights from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
Beginning at 6 p.m. guests are invited to explore water-based art media activities that complement the Harn Museum of Art’s all-video exhibition “Cross-Currents in Recent Video Installation: Water as Metaphor for Identity.” At 8 p.m. guests can enjoy the local, folk-pop collective band Oh Fortuna. Free food and refreshments will be provided at the event.
Summer Museum Nights will continue with events on July 31 and Aug. 7. The fall semester Museum Nights will begin on Aug. 28, and it will continue during the academic year with a full schedule of activities and entertainment.
The goal of Museum Nights is to make rich, artistic and scientific offerings at the Harn Museum of Art and Florida Museum of Natural History available to University of Florida students and the Gainesville community. Sponsored by UF Student Government, Museum Nights extends the museums’ hours on Thursday evenings, and it provides programming and entertainment planned by students, for students.
