July 28, 2008
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Gustavo Bartczak, a senior in the Warrington College of Business Administration (WCBA), recently won the $5,000 Freeman-ASIA scholarship award.
Gustavo, a Coral Springs resident, will use the scholarship this fall semester to study in China at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
The goal of Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA) is to increase the number of U.S. undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia by providing them with information and financial assistance. Award recipients are expected to share their experiences with their home campuses to encourage study abroad in East and Southeast Asia by others, and to spread a greater understanding of Asian people and their cultures within their home communities.
