Tigar named 'Public Health Nurse of the Year'
October 7, 2008
Nancy Tigar, a clinical assistant professor and coordinator of the College of Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing specialty track, was recently named the 2008 Florida Public Health Nurse of the Year by the Florida Association of Public Health Nursing. Tigar was presented with the award at the organization’s annual meeting in July.
Tigar was the lead faculty member in securing grant funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration for the master’s degree program at UF. This program is one of only two in Florida, filling a need for more master’s degree-prepared public health nurses in Florida.
