Driscoll appointed to world copyright group
November 4, 2008
The American Library Association’s Office for Information Technology Policy (OITP) recently announced that Lori Driscoll, associate university librarian and chair of the George A. Smathers Libraries, has been chosen as one of three of ALA’s International Copyright Advocates.
The International Copyright Advocate initiative was established to broaden library representation at international copyright meetings — where copyright activities have intensified. This is the first year that the group has chosen advocates.
The term for each advocate is two years. Depending on funding, OITP hopes to extend the initiative and broaden participation in the future.
