GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Congressman Cliff Stearns is sponsoring two upcoming home ownership workshops in Ocala and Gainesville. The sessions will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 in the Klein Conference Center of the Ewers Century Center at the Central Florida Community College in Ocala, and from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 30 in room R01 at Santa Fe College in Gainesville.
These free workshops will help homeowners struggling with mortgage difficulties or facing foreclosure, as well as community members considering buying their first home. Workshop topics will include mortgage-crisis counseling, consumer-credit counseling, first-time home buyer counseling and more. Refreshments will be served.
The University of Florida IFAS Marion County Extension Service is co-hosting the workshops. Lynda Spence of IFAS Extension will work with individual attendees at both sessions. IFAS Extension has provided Floridians with home buyer and housing education since 1982.
