November 17, 2009
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Local Rotary clubs are accepting applications for ambassadorial scholarships from early January to late February.
The primary goal of the awards is to promote the Rotary’s ideals of peace and international understanding by emphasizing the ambassadorial role of scholars in their daily contact with people of other cultures and traditions.
Student scholarships range up to $25,000 for up to a one-year academic study and foreign residence. There is no upper age limit, but applicants must have completed the lower division courses of their college career, and applicants must either be residents of D-6970 or be enrolled in one of the institutions of higher learning located within D-6970 counties.
