UF Friends of Music 'Swing Into Spring' event offers fun and romance on Feb. 13

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida’s Friends of Music will host their annual benefit in support of the College of Fine Arts School of Music. This year’s benefit “Swing Into Spring” promises an entertaining evening with music, dance, drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
The gala will be held from 7:30 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 in the Steinbrenner Band Hall on the northeast corner of Newell Drive and Inner Road on the UF campus.
The UF Jazz Band, conducted by Scott Wilson, will play the musical sounds of the Big Band era. Along with Wilson and the jazz band, international crooner and Rainbow Room star Michael Andrew will croon to the tunes of Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, Glen Miller and others.
The event, designed by acclaimed local planner Keith Watson, will be catered by Celebrations Catering. Tickets are $100.
