Police seeking information on armed-robbery suspect; composite sketch available

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — On April 14 at approximately 11:29 p.m., there was an armed robbery on the eastside of Parking Garage 4, on the University of Florida campus. Detectives are seeking information from the public about the identity and whereabouts of the above individual. Details of the April 14 incident include that the female victim, an 18-year-old UF student, exited an RTS bus at the Rawlings Hall bus stop and was walking south on the sidewalk between Parking Garage 4 and the Broward tennis courts when she was approached by a black male suspect. The suspect also exited the RTS bus at Rawlings Hall. The suspect made contact with the victim and told her, “Give me your stuff.” The suspect displayed a handgun that was pointed at the victim’s stomach. The victim gave the suspect a black bag with a Miami Heat logo on it. The suspect also took an IPOD and a cell phone. The suspect fled south toward Museum Road.
A search for the suspect was conducted by UF police officers and a canine unit from the Gainesville Police Department, but could not be located. A patrol increase has been initiated for the area.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’07” to 5’09”, thin, with short dreadlocks. He was wearing long, dark pants and a dark T-shirt. He was carrying a black semi-automatic handgun.
