UF to dedicate multidisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Building

What:
The University of Florida is hosting a dedication ceremony for the new Biomedical Sciences Building at the northeast corner of Center Drive and Mowry Road. The $90.5 million, 163,000-square-foot, eight-story facility brings together researchers from the colleges of Medicine, Engineering and Public Health and Health Professions, creating the potential for fruitful new collaborations that could translate to improved therapies for patients. Units in the building include the UF Diabetes Center of Excellence, the UF Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease, the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Rehabilitation Research Program and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Science for Life laboratory, a cross-disciplinary training program for undergraduate students.
