UF students offer free consulting to small businesses
September 21, 2010
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Students in Free Enterprise at the University of Florida are offering free consulting services to improve local businesses.
Groups of four to six students foster a mutually beneficial relationship with a small business as a learning opportunity for the students and an opportunity to develop plans and reach target markets for the business.
Teams are made up of students with a variety of skills and from different majors who are trained in business consulting. Each team is lead by a group leader who acts as the main liaison between the team and the company.
Past clients have found it valuable to gain insight and a new perspective on their business plans.
“We have the resources, knowledge and expertise that can help small businesses get started without the high cost of a consulting firm,” said Mark Fazzini, project manager. “Our services are completely free.”
