Three polling places serve students

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida students looking to cast their votes in the midterm election Tuesday won’t have to go very far.

Students registered in Alachua County and living in UF residence halls will vote at the Reitz Student Union, Phillips Center for Performing Arts or the Days Inn on SW 13th Street.

All UF undergraduate residence halls except the Lakeside Residential Complex are zoned to vote in Precinct 31 at the Reitz Student Union. UF graduate and family housing residents living in Corry Village and Diamond Village also will vote in Precinct 31.

Residents of Lakeside, Maguire Village and University Village South will vote in Precinct 44 at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Students living in Tanglewood Village will vote in Precinct 59 at the Days Inn, 1901 SW 13th St.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Students must present photo and signature ID or vote a provisional ballot.

Students who intend to vote for Democratic candidates can get a ride to the polls by stopping at the UF College Democrats’ table on the Reitz Student Union Colonnade between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday. An on-call driver will pick them up.
