Blue Path exhibit at Florida Museum extended to Feb. 13

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Museum of Natural History is pleased to announce an extension of “The Blue Path: Protecting Florida’s springs” exhibit until Feb. 13 due to popular demand.

Coordinated by Florida’s Eden, a nonprofit citizen initiative that helped launch the Blue Path grassroots campaign, the exhibit uses paintings, photographs, maps and videos to illustrate how the state’s springs have shaped the local landscape. The exhibit also emphasizes the importance of the springs, and how residents’ everyday choices have a dramatic effect on water resources.

“We love this exhibit and it was good timing,” said Darcie MacMahon, Florida Museum assistant director for exhibits. “We wanted more people to be able to see it.”

MacMahon said the extension will allow the exhibit to coincide with upcoming events organized by Florida’s Eden. The exhibit was originally slated to close Dec. 12.
