GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Two men robbed the UF Bookstore book buy-back tent near Carleton Auditorium at about 10:30 a.m. today, the University of Florida Police Department reported.
Two men entered the tent, one was armed with a knife, and demanded money from the employees, police said. After getting the money, the suspects fled eastbound on foot. They are described as black men between 20 and 24 years old. They were both described as tall and skinny, wearing black coats, black beanies and dark pants.
A perimeter was established and Gainesville Police K-9 assisted with the search. The search was unsuccessful.
While the University of Florida Police Department will be increasing patrols around the book buy-back areas on campus, police remind all university community members to remain vigilant at all times, and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.
