GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Alpha Epsilon Pi’s 2011 Bake-Off philanthropy will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 23 at the Alpha Epsilon Pi house at 14 Fraternity Row.
The Bake-Off philanthropy will benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of American. CCFA’s mission is to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life for children and adults affected by these diseases.
AEPi has chosen CCFA as its partner in this project for their outstanding work and to support the many brothers in the fraternity who deal with this disease on a daily basis.
The main event is a cake-decorating contest. Members of the community have formed teams to compete in the Bake-Off. The cakes will be judged on creativity, technique and design, neatness, taste and general appearance. Teams will also participate in a pie-eating contest.
Admission to the event is $5. Attendees will be able to participate in the cake tasting at the culmination of the event, as well as tie-dye the Bake-Off T-shirt or an item they bring with them. T-shirts will be sold for $10 the day of the event.
