‘Entourage’ actor Rex Lee to speak at UF

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Rex Lee, the openly gay Korean-American actor from the TV show “Entourage,” will speak Oct. 12 at the University of Florida’s Phillips Center for the Performing Arts as part of the ACCENT Speaker’s Bureau series.
Known for his role as Lloyd, the gay assistant to Ari Gold, played by actor Jeremy Piven, in the HBO hit series, Lee’s popularity has grown as a prominent television actor.
Lee’s successful performance in “Entourage” enabled him to receive three Screen Actor’s Guild Award cast nominations, win the 2007 and 2008 Asian Excellence Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in Television, as well as win the “KoreAm” Achievement in Entertainment Award in 2007.
In this moderated appearance, Lee will talk about his role on “Entourage” and will share his experiences as an actor and the road to his success. Lee will also be sharing and discussing the adversities he has faced as an openly gay actor who was raised in a traditional Korean family.
Lee will appear at the Phillips Center at 7 p.m. The actor will be answering questions from the moderator, as well as taking questions from the audience.

ACCENT Speaker’s Bureau is the largest student-run speaker’s bureau in the nation and is an agency of the University of Florida Student Government.
Since its creation in 1967, ACCENT has had as its mission to bring a plethora of prominent, influential and controversial speakers to the University of Florida with the intent of further educating the university’s student body outside the classroom.
