NSF Research Day to feature hundreds of posters

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — NSF Research Day is an annual event featuring research from graduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, including social, behavioral and economic disciplines.

It will be held Oct. 25 in the Reitz Student Union Grand Ballroom.

It features posters from hundreds of students, roundtable discussions and workshop on topics of professional development, and a keynote address by Wyn Jennings, Division of Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Setting, Education and Human Resources Directorate at the National Science Foundation.

The event is open to all graduate and undergraduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, researchers and faculty.

This year’s NSF Research Day is themed around Broader Impacts. This highlights research that benefits society, integrates research and education, broadens participation of underrepresented groups, increases partnerships between academia and industry, and enhances the scientific and technological understanding of the public through outreach programs. The day starts at 9 a.m. with poster judging. The keynote speaker is at 1 p.m. Roundtable sessions introduced by Provost Joe Glover will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. A poster award ceremony will be held at 5:30 pm.
