GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Information Technology Security Awareness Day 2011 will be held on Monday in the Reitz Student Union Grand Ballroom at the University of Florida. Two tracks will be presented simultaneously, for IT professionals and a general awareness track for end users.

ITSA Day 2011 is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will feature presentations on Internet safety, social networking security, cyber self-defense and information on how to protect sensitive data. There will also be local and national technology vendors, along with staff from the University of Florida Information Technology Division and University of Florida Police Department, available to answer information security questions.

For details of the presentations, visit www.itsa.ufl.edu.

This year, the Office of Information Security and Compliance is also offering an ITExpo as part of ITSA Day. Attendees can get the latest information from leading technology vendors and have an opportunity to win some tech prizes.

Attendees should bring their personal laptops to ITSA Day. The UF Computing Helpdesk will help install Secunia, software that will keep the computer secure and up to date. The UFPD will also offer FrontDoor software free of charge. FrontDoor helps police locate a laptop if it’s lost or stolen.
