UF homepage redesign to launch Nov. 7
October 31, 2011
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Gator Nation is getting a new virtual front door.
The University of Florida’s homepage — www.ufl.edu – will have a new look beginning Nov. 7. The facelift is an intermediate step in UF’s long-term efforts to maintain a contemporary and frequently refreshed Web presence for the university, said Andy Fletcher, associate vice president for marketing and public relations.
The new “skin” maintains all links previously found on the UF homepage and reflects the design UF&Shands originated for its Web presence, which is currently in transition.
An 18-month comprehensive redesign, which requires developing new designs, content and site architecture for the website, will begin in early 2012 and involves constituents from across the university.
Templates for the intermediate UF homepage design will be available in both a WordPress and an HTML format in January 2012, for those university colleges, academic and administrative units that would like to use them.
