UF, Buchholz High School offer discussion of entrepreneurs

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Administration is partnering with Buchholz High School to present a panel discussion featuring successful entrepreneurs and business leaders.

The free event titled “Mind Your Own Business” starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Buchholz High School auditorium.

Organized by students in Buchholz’s Academy of Entrepreneurship and DECA, a business-marketing student organization, the panel discussion aims to educate students and business professionals about the tools and skills necessary to establish and sustain a successful business.

Scheduled panelists are:

Ken Block: Block is the lead singer for the platinum-album selling band Sister Hazel. He and a group of friends started Cymplify, where people learn powerful tools and principles they can apply to their personal life and careers.

Don Davis: Davis is president of Capital City Bank. A UF graduate, Davis is a board member of the Gainesville Rotary Club, vice chair of the Alachua County Affordable Housing Committee, board member of Florida Works and a board member of Alachua County Clean Energy among other activities.

Josh Greenberg: Greenberg is the chief technology officer of Grooveshark, the world’s largest on-demand music discovery service. Greenberg co-founded Grooveshark while studying business at UF.

Kristen Hadeed: Hadeed founded Student Maid, a commercial and residential cleaning service performed by students in Gainesville. Hadeed was a featured presenter at TEDx.

Abhi Lokesh: Lokesh is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Fracture, a company leading the digital revolution in high-quality glass printing.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Bill Dorman, Entrepreneur in Residence at Santa Fe College’s Center for Innovation & Economic Development.
