Phillips Center offers music, wine for New Year's Eve event

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A musical tribute to famous composer Domenico Scarlatti will be held at 2 and 5 p.m. Dec. 31 at Squitieri Studio Theatre inside the Phillips Center for Performing Arts, featuring fine wines, elegant ambiance and beautiful piano playing by world-renowned pianist Pnina Becher.
Becher will take the audience on a journey through the wine countries of Scarlatti’s life as she plays his sonatas in five parts – each of which will be paired perfectly with a wine selected specifically for this performance.
Tickets are $50 for gallery seating and $65 for table seating and price includes five glasses of wine and light refreshments. Tickets may be purchased through Dec. 21 at the Phillips Center Box Office only and will also be available beginning at 1 p.m. the day of the event. ID will be checked to verify that the ticket holder is at least 21. Rush tickets are not available for this event.
