Project seeks volunteers to help with community needs
June 17, 2013
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The UF Center for Leadership and Service will conduct a service project called Summer Plunge on July 20.
The project will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Plaza of the Americas, with a group reflection and lunch after the project at the Alachua County Downtown Library.
Volunteers will branch out into various areas of Gainesville to work with animals, art and culture, youth development, elder care, environmental issues, homelessness and housing, and more. Students and community members will be able to learn about service opportunities in Gainesville, meet new people and network with campus leaders, and experience their community first-hand.
