Roger Fillingim, director of the Pain Research and Intervention Center of Excellence, was quoted in a July 2Tampa Bay Times story about a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study that found overdose deaths from prescription painkillers rose much faster among women than men in the past decade.
