Art Bash showcases work of UF students’ visual arts
October 17, 2013
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Art Bash 2013, an annual celebration of the visual arts featuring a wide array of projects by University of Florida art and art history students, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the UF Fine Arts Complex.
Art Bash showcases the scope of disciplines the School of Art + Art History offers from intimate drawings to ceramic works of art, from vibrant graphic design to sculpture, experimental photographs, prints, paintings, art history and art education displays and more.
The free event encourages discussion between students and the community and introduces potential students to the school’s facilities and diverse programs. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the demonstrations, exhibitions and interactive projects from both our academic and studio areas.
This year’s Art Bash will feature guest alumni artist Jason Mitcham, the artist behind the Avett Brother’s “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise” music video. Displays will include large-scale inflatable artworks from the students of WARP (Workshop for Art Research and Practice), HOT Clay’s “Pot Bowling,” letter press demonstrations and live music by the R. Mutt Blues Band, recent winners of the 2013 North Central Florida Blues Society’s Challenge.
