UF seeks students interested in working at new Wauburg challenge course
October 18, 2013
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida RecSports plans to open a high-elements challenge course at Lake Wauburg in January and seeks UF students interested in training and employment as facilitators.
Site preparation for construction of the course has started at Lake Wauburg’s South Shore. This course will expand the property’s facilitated team-building offerings, with existing low-elements challenge course, Alpine Tower, Carolina Climbing Wall, bordering grotto and a slate of other activities at the lake’s South Shore and North Park, including mountain bikes, sailboats, paddle boards, canoes, picnic pavilions and much more.
The high elements ropes course will be available at no cost to UF student organizations, by appointment, on weekends. Paid reservations for weekday appointments will be open to non-UF organizations and private companies.
The addition is being designed and constructed by Challenge Design Innovations Inc., which is accredited by the Association for Challenge Course Technology.
Students interested in training and employment as high-elements challenge course facilitators should contact Michelle Alexander, michellel@recsports.ufl.edu or 352-446-4112.
