Students can learn more about study abroad opportunities Jan. 29

January 15, 2014

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida International Center will host the annual Study Abroad Fair  from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Plaza of the Americas.

UF study abroad program directors, independent program providers and former study abroad students will be at the fair to share their international experiences. The UFIC’s Study Abroad Services staff can explain the application process and help students find the best program.  Other universities and institutions that sponsor UF-approved programs and internships will also be available to help students navigate  the study abroad process. UF student organizations will also be performing throughout the day.

In 2013, more than 2,000 UF students studied abroad. Study abroad programs help students discover new cultures, increase global awareness, enhance foreign language skills, make new friends and establish new contacts. Students also have the opportunity to intern overseas. Most financial aid can be used for study abroad programs and can be used to complete the nine-hour summer residency requirement.
