UF expert available to discuss unrest in Venezuela

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A University of Florida expert is available to talk about the situation in Venezuela, where political unrest is creating turmoil in the streets.
Philip J. Williams, director of UF’s Center for Latin American Studies, can speak to the dynamics beyond the protests, political polarization in Venezuela and U.S. policy.
Williams, the former chairman of the political science department at UF, has done extensive research in Latin America. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, a master’s degree in Latin American Studies and a doctorate in politics, both from the University of Oxford.
