Brain Awareness Week brings neuroscience to the masses

WHAT:

The Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute of the University of Florida will celebrate Brain Awareness Week March 10-15 with events aimed at advancing public awareness about the progress and benefits of brain research. Brain Awareness Week is a global campaign created to promote public awareness of brain research.

Topic: The Brain Fights Back: Neuroplasticity in Aging and Disease

Guest Speaker: Mark Bear, Ph.D., professor of neuroscience, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Topic: Cortical Synaptic Plasticity: From Amblyopia to Autism

Open to the community, with expert panelists who will discuss various aspects of Alzheimer’s disease, including nursing care and current and future treatments for dementia
