UF events of possible media interest listed

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The following events are scheduled in the near future at the University of Florida:
Fanfares and Fireworks set for Thursday
Fanfares and Fireworks 2014 will provide live music and fireworks at 7 p.m. July 3 at Flavet Field on the University of Florida campus. Richy Stano and Mindwalk, InCrisis Band and the Gainesville Community Band are confirmed to perform. The fireworks will begin about 9:40 p.m. Randy Wright, UF College of Journalism and Communications Division of Multimedia Properties executive director, and Myra Monroe, WUFT multimedia news manager, will host. During the event, LifeSouth Blood Center will conduct a blood drive and concessions will be available for purchase. For safety reasons, no dogs, sparklers or alcohol are allowed at the event. CRC hosts part-time job fair
The University of Florida Career Resource Center will host a part-time job fair for UF students and alumni from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 14 in the Reitz Student Union Breezeway. For more information, visit crc.ufl.edu/ptjobfair.
Talent show scheduled Saturday
The University of Florida Office of Academic Support will host a talent show at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Reitz Student Union Grand Ballroom. University of Florida RecSports is hosting a daily #LiveInMotion social media photo challenge. Butterfly bonanza
The Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida will show an exotic assortment of butterfly and moth species starting Tuesday and running through Aug. 14 as part of its theme “Butterflies of Southeast Asia.” Daily butterfly releases are held at 2 p.m. with additional weekend releases at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.
