Good for you and great as a gift
December 3, 2014
Just in time for the holidays, the Gator Citrus Club will host its annual citrus sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 11-13 at Fifield Hall on Hull Road. Shoppers can choose from pre-packed 20- and 40-pound boxes of grapefruit and navel oranges. All of the fruit is grown in Florida, and the money collected will be used to fund a year-end educational trip. The club participates in horticultural volunteer projects and provides citrus greening educational materials.
A multidisciplinary club composed of UF students and faculty advisors interested in citrus and other horticultural crops, the Gator Citrus Club seeks to enhance students' opportunities for learning the diversity of agriculture in other areas of the world and to look for ways of improving our current agricultural practices at home.
The Citrus Club currently has members from several different areas of agriculture and includes both undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled at the University of Florida.
