WOMEN NEGOTIATORS – UF researchers find that women who had previously negotiated aggressively were superior negotiators to men, even when they rated themselves as average negotiators. The researchers concluded that women who avoided negotiation or negotiated poorly were likely influenced by a lack of experience in successful negotiation rather than anything inherent in their gender.

Lecture by Professor Geoffrey J. Giles
Professor Geoffrey J. Giles will discuss the Nazi concentration camp at Theresienstadt (also known as the Nazi Ghetto) at noon on April 14 in the Judaica Suite of Smathers Library East. This lecture is part of a weeklong series of events leading up to Protest Requiem, which takes place at 7:30 p.m. on April 18 at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Start-up Democracy: Innovating Citizenship with the Ancient Athenians
Cynthia Farrar, a scholar and civic entrepreneur from Yale University, will speak at 5:30 p.m. on April 16, at the University of Florida’s Pugh Hall Ocora. MASH is coming to the Harn
The Harn Museum of Art will be the site of the first MASH: Mathematics→Art←Science at the Harn Museum night from 6-9 p.m. on April 16.
